Benefits of The Local Peddler

Because “a picture is worth a 1000 words”

We strongly encourage you to include a photo with your classified advertisement. Every ad placement on The Local Peddler includes a total of three FREE photos. Placing photos with your ad greatly increases the number of potential buyers that will view your ad.  Because we believe very strongly in the power of posting photos with your classified ad, we would like to make it as easy as possible for everyone to take advantage of the three free photos that are included with each classified ad posting. Below we have outlined some of the many options available:

If you have digital images upload them directly to your ad yourself. Your photos must be in the .GIF or .JPG format, have a file size no larger than 450 kb (460800 bytes), and have a width no greater than 450 pixels and a height no greater than 450 pixels. If you have digital images but are having trouble resizing the images or uploading them to your ad, e-mail them to admin@thelocalpeddler.com, and we will upload the photos to your classified ad at no additional charge.  You can also bring your digital media cards to our office and we will upload the photos for you at  no additional charge.

If your product is easily transportable bring it by our office during our business hours and we will photograph it for you.  For a $5.00 fee we will take three photos of your product, post the photos to your ad and e-mail you a copy of the photos.

If you do not have digital photos, but you do have paper photos, bring them by our office during our business hours. For a $5.00 fee we will scan the photos, post the photos to your ad and e-mail you a copy of the photos, or click here to learn about our mail in PHOTO-Scanner Service.

To upload a photo when you place your ad follow these easy steps:
  • Complete the ad posting form and click on “Preview My Ad”
  • If you are pleased with the content of your ad click on “Post My Ad”
  • If your ad has been successfully posted you will now be able to upload a photo to your ad.
  • Click on the “Browse” button to locate the file on your computer hard drive. Once you have located the file, click on “Upload The Multimedia File”. Click your browser back button to place additional photos.

To upload photos after your ad has been placed follow these easy steps:
  • Click on “Edit Ads” in the top menu bar
  • If you have not done so already, enter your user name and password to log on to the system.
  • Click on the category where your ad is located.
  • Click “Add Multimedia File”
  • Enter the ad number for your ad
  • Click on the “Browse” button to locate the file on your computer hard drive. Once you have located the file, click on “Upload The Multimedia File”.
  • Click your browser back button to place additional photos.

PHOTO-Scanner Service

 

The Local Peddler’s PHOTO-scanner service will convert up to three of your paper photos into electronic images and upload them directly to your posted classified advertisement. We will also send you a copy of the scanned photos by e-mail.  If you would like the original photos returned to you please include a self addressed stamped envelope.

Guidelines for submitting photo to be scanned:

  • The Photos must pertain to the product or service you are advertising on The Local Peddler.
  • The Photo size can not exceed 5 x 7 inches.
  • The Photo should be of good quality and clearly depict the product or service you are advertising.
  • The Local Peddler will not post pornographic or offensive material.
  • The Local Peddler reserves the right to decline posting photos that are in violation of these guidelines.

To include a photo in your classified advertisement through the use of the PHOTO-scanner service please follow these easy steps:

  • Post your classified ad on The Local Peddler.  Make note of your ad number as you will need this to request scanning service.
  • Print and complete the form below.
  • Bring or mail the form along with your photos and payment (cash or check only) to:
